DreamMark1 and KoolLogix Sign Memorandum of Understanding to explore project integration

Seoul, South Korea, and Singapore – [31st January 2024]

DreamMark1, a Seoul-based specialized internet data center (IDC) provider, and KoolLogix, a Singapore-based award-winning data center heat removal solution provider, have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly establish a proof of concept for the integration of the KoolLogix system into DreamMark1’s data centers.

In a statement, the companies said the MOU facilitates a joint review of the design and installation of KoolLogix technology at DreamMark1’s Guro and Gawja data centers, “so that DreamMark1’s customers can experience the KoolLogix technology”.

The agreement was signed by JiChang Yu, CEO of DreamMark1, and Cheong Chun Keat, CEO and Co-founder of KoolLogix, in a ceremony in DreamMark1’s Seoul office.

When asked about the initiative, Ricky Lee, Sr. EVP of DreamMark1, said “The average data center cooling system consumes about 40% of the center’s total power, and the advent of AI now requires 40 or more kilowatts per rack. To meet high-density racks such as AI and PUE improvement through energy saving, we’re planning to introduce KoolLogix heat removal solution into our data center”.Both parties also expressed their gratitude to Gaw Capital Partners, a key investor of DreamMark1, for its ongoing support of the company, and Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), who have been working closely with KoolLogix to explore new growth and overseas expansion opportunities.Kok Chye Ong, Managing Director – Head of IDC Platform, Asia (ex-China) for Gaw Capital said “Gaw Capital Partners is always looking for ways to enhance our investment and encourage sustainability. This POC is the first of many initiatives to look at achieving efficiency in energy utilization for our data center”.

Speaking after the event, Mr. Cheong, CEO of KoolLogix, said he hopes this partnership with DreamMark1 will just be the first foray of many for KoolLogix into the Korean market.

Mr. Cheong said: “Integration of the KoolLogix system into a data center should improve energy efficiency, operational expenditure, and cut carbon emissions.” Mr. Cheong also noted that in a recent project with a major financial services institution, it was shown that electricity usage for cooling the data center was reduced by at least 75% after the KoolLogix system was installed.
